Adrian Anderson said last night that the explosion of holding the ball decisions in the first round was mainly due to 'players testing out the umpires to see what they could get away with'. He then denied there had been a directive to pay less of those free kicks this week.
Umpiring will never improve until they actually put their hand up and say 'yes we fucked up'.
