COLD CHISEL TRIBUTE ALBUM
I was massively excited when I heard there was a Cold Chisel tribute album coming out. Now that it's out and I've had a good look at it, what a disappointment it is. Stock songs and a generally terrible choice of artists across the board. Forever Now, My Baby, Choir Girl, Flame Trees, ordinary songs at best. Where's One Long Day, Tomorrow, Only One, Ghost town, Hold me tight, Twentieth Century. What about the bunch of duds they got to crank these out, take You am I and the Living End out, it's a very sorry lot - Pete Murray, Ben Lee, Evermore, Troy Casser-Daly, Katie Noonan (that freak from George), Alex Lloyd, The Waifs, Sarah Blasko, Augie March and with all due respect to Gingas, who the fuck is Shane Nicholson??? Grinspoon are just going through the motions on Saturday Night and bring nothing to the table. What a sorry bunch of boring balladeers. In summing up I'd say this is the most disappointing tribute album I've ever heard, boring, uninspiring, standard, no imagination at all, just terrible. Saying that, thanks to Paul Kelly I now know all the words to Khe Sahn
