If I was a North Melbourne supporter, I'd spend more time worrying about the future of my club, rather than who gains entry into the Hall of Fame. Wayne Carey's time will come, there's no rule that says you need to be inducted as soon as you're eligible. Instead of sooking about this, James Brayshaw should be looking to ensure the future of his piss-ant team. Which, in my opinion, is only a really bad season away from folding.
Also, I notice the AFL Commission is going to look at the criteria for admission to the Hall of Fame, doesn't the Commission already have the power to admit who they see fit regardless of the criteria? Roy Cazaly is in the hall of fame despite having a very modest record as a player (198 games, 4 Brownlow votes) and no record at all as a coach (apart from stints in Tassie), the Commission saw fit to overlook their own rules to admit him, yet they said their hands were tied on the Lou Richards issue.

Too many vested interests in the media peddling their views on this. I say do your lobbying silently to the panel and stop your whinging, it's fast making the Hall Of Fame a joke.
As for the panel, I say get rid of the journos and have proper representation from all states so bias cannot be brought into it. 4 journos plus Jim Main is too many, get people on who played or have standing in the game.
Lou Richards is a legend, but it's in TV where his legend grew. I have no issue with him not getting the gong, but leave the poor old guy alone for crying out loud, let him have his final year or two in peace - these do gooders are just making him cranky and are probably sending him to the grave a smidge before his time.
Good call Bowie.
Just in the interest of getting the facts right Roy Cazaly had a couple of years coaching both South Melbourne and Hawthorn (both pretty unsuccessfully).
