I see James Hird is starting to surround himself with former Essendon players, starting with Sean Wellman. Being enveloped by 5 or 6 'yes' men should suppress the disquiet for a couple of years. No one said Hird wasn't smart

A desperate decision by a club more worried about it's falling attendances than anything going on the field.
The fickle Essendon fans have created this, can't wait until they turn on the favourite son!
