SEE YOU IN 4 YEARS

I hear the Commonwealth Games wrap up tonight. Thus ends an embarrassing chapter for 2nd most populous country on Earth. We should take away some important lessons from Dehli, that Indians are lazy and corrupt, as are the Commonwealth Games Organizing Committee members, also snakes, no matter what type, have no place in the athletes' village.
To make the Commonwealth Games relevent again on the world stage, they should make it an under 23 event, a breeding ground for the Olympics and World Championships.
Bring on Glasgow!

Under 23 only would make it even more irrelevant.

I quite enjoyed the swimming and the cycling. Lost interest after that though.

I unfortunately watched more than I wanted to, my main gripe is that we carry on like a nation of world beaters when we bring home so many medals in what can only be described as a 2nd rate competition.

Like cricket, the Commonwealth games is made up of mainly desperately poor countries playing 2 or 3 major developed countries and of course have no hope of being able to compete with us.

That we win gold in things like gymnastics suggests the competition is fairly lacking in quality.

The netball final was pretty exciting but we play NZ every year don't we?

All up, I didn't see any of Melbourne's games but saw a bit of this, and at the very least India should be congratulated for pulling off a relatively incident free games.
