Not sure what Coles are trying to say with their No Added Hormones guff about their beef at the moment.
Are they implying their major competitor does add hormones?
Are they saying they used to add hormones, but don't anymore?
Or is it like saying 'tap water with no added dogshit', i.e. it's just used as a bullshit selling point for something that never existed in the first place.
It appears to have come from nowhere and looks like it's a deflection of some kind that just makes me even MORE suspicious of the guys and girls down at Coles HQ.

My thoughts exactly. I imagine it's a bit of all those things although if Coles had beef with hormones and Woolworths still do, what harm is it doing us?
What I find most unappealing is the amount of celebrity chefs selling their soul to these two companies. When would Guy Grossing have ever had a ham from Woolies and I bet all the tea in China that Curtis Stone has never tried a steak or prawn from Coles. They really think we're fools but I guess if Junior Masterchef is a ratings winner then they're probably right.
What I've found out.
Coles Supermarkets have switched their fresh beef offerings entirely to beef produced without the use of Hormone Growth Promotants, or HGPs, as of January 1st.
Hormone Growth Promotants are small implants containing various hormones, such as oestradiol, progesterone, testosterone and trenbolone acetate, which are implanted into a beef cow’s ear. These implants dissolve slowly to increase muscle growth, mature animal size and lean yield. They also tend to delay fat deposition. The use of HGPs is not permitted in the EU.
So all they've done is highlight the fact they've been feeding us this crap.
