IF IT AIN'T BROKE PART 2

The Aria awards has turned from a grungy, hard-edged, music show which used to be compulsory viewing into something akin to squeaky clean Logies clone with a couple extra live songs thrown in. Who the fuck are Kate Ritchie and the bloke who played Carl Williams to be hosting the Arias, were Tex Perkins and Kram unavailable??
Too slick, too safe, too many suits!
This is Rove's fault, his fucking production company started this kid-friendly bullshit a couple of years ago.
Jimmy Barnes is spinning in his grave and the friggin guy isn't even dead yet!!!

The big issues cop a belting on Bowie's Blog again.

Logies, Arias, Grammy's, Golden Globes and Oscars - nobody cares Bowie!

I'll just clarify my last comment - Australia is on the edge of signing off on the biggest, most expensive and most useless pieces of legislation ever that will cost us all a fortune in increased power bills and any services or products that use power - i.e. everything!

The Liberal party is being run by a Labor mole who has been so unashamedly supportive of the Government in their quest to be the first, therefore historic government to sign off on an ETS which will in all likeliness cripple the country. Turnbull needs to go, the Liberals need to grow a spine and oppose - after all, they are the opposition.

Whether or not global warming is real or not and it looks like the people entrusted to provide the evidence are as shonky as a QLD politician in the 70's, the fact is this ETS isn't a solution, all it does is make us pay more for everything whilst making no difference to the environment whatsoever. And read the fine print of the proposed Copenhagen agreement and see how much that will cost us - if you like the way you currently live, i.e rather affluently, then get ready for a shock.

If you do believe the government should "do something about global warming" then ask yourself what you're willing to give up. At the moment alternative "renewable" energy sources are not a match for coal power so until that time comes and they are, we'll have to limit our consumption and what will that be? The air conditioner in summer? The heater in winter? Those wonderful plasma TV's we've all got? Interstate or international holidays? If you're not prepared to give these up, you're not prepared to support an ETS.

That's why I got my back up about Bowie's Aria's bashing because in the scheme of things - it ain't that big a deal.

And for the record, I've been a life long Labor voter.
