It still staggers me that viewers see the warnings associated with TV shows (e.g. sex scenes, high level coarse language etc) and then get offended when they see and hear exactly what they just got warned about! Surely they themselves know what their own tolerance is when it comes to such things, they need to take the advice on board and turn the channel.
Usually the people that complain the most about such things haven't even bothered to watch the show.
I had to laugh when I read the moral high priest himself - Andrew Bolt's column on it, he said that it was teaching his children that sex is everything. Why is he letting his children watch show like this in the first place?
I'm afraid it really is as easy as "if you don't like it don't watch it". Blaming shows like this for the moral decay of society is bullshit. What does CSI do for society? Why aren't people rising up against these types of shows? What about every second show on SBS, where's the outrage here??
I'm sure Channel 10 would like to thank everyone for their discussions on the topic.

I agree fully.
No the fan in the least of censorship. If something needs to be censored it is the ramblings of Andrew Bolt. The crap that he peddles is just as 'corrupting' as any fiction on television.
Whilst agreeing censorship is essentially a bad thing there has to be standards with which fta programming needs to abide by. If Californication has passed these standards then the program should be allowed to be aired, but just because there is a warning before the program shouldn't allow tv stations to put on anything they like, otherwise we'd all be watching soft porn and Jackass on ch.10.
But if we are against censorship why are we calling for bans on Andrew Bolt's column? Surely he has a right to put forward his thoughts without threat of censorship - it's not like he incites riots ala Allan Jones or any Mufti. I don't agree with his views, but I'll defend his right to say it.
What is responsible for moral decay?
I would have thought slackening of moral standards in Tv and the press and sex in general and the too soft and gently, gently approach to criminality and offenders is very much to blame.
When I grew up and did something wrong I got a clip in the ear, now my Dad would be called a child abuser and I'd be running rampant!
How often were there bashings at nightclubs and pubs when we grew up? They happen every week in Geelong now, and blokes aren't happy with just hitting blokes, they and their no good mates get the boots in and bash guys to within an inch of their lives.
Marriage breakdowns are more frequent, kids grow up with no father figure, or worse a bad father figure who spends most of his time wathcing stick films getting pissed and slapping his kids.
More people dependent are on welfare and we are apparently in the most prosperous times in our Nations' history.
The good thing is that we scrutinize government and institutions such as the church more. If I had of told my old man that the local Parish Priest touched me up, I would have got another clip on the ear, but now we're more aware of abuse, however it hasn't stopped it happenning.
There is something to be said for old fashioned values, sure they appear to be "lame" but this anything goes society does have a lot of cracks in it!
Yes, I'm old!
And the crowd rises and applauds!!
Seco has opened his heart and soul to the crowd.
